ELABORATION OF A COMPLEX OF SOFTWARE FACILITIES FOR SOLVING OPTIMIZATION AND IDENTIFICATION PROBLEMS USING MODERN SIMULATION SYSTEMS WITH AIM TO COMPUTERIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC AND DESIGN WORKING

The project purpose is creation and introduction of a nimble and enough universal software into research and design practice for solving problems of optimization type (inverse problems of mathematical physics, identification and control) that will allow to automate the process of decision when selecting design and regime parameters of objects and processes under investigation by simulation methods as well as when processing experiment data or when generating an control action in control systems and so on.

In the process of fulfilling the project it is planed to use long-term experience of an international collective (researchers from Institute of Problems in Machinery and scientists from Cincinnati, for example, famous mathematician, Professor of the University of Cincinnati Diego Murio) in the field of simulation, inverse problems of mathematical physics, optimization methods and computer programming.

The main idea of the project is to generalize, deepen, and embodying into a software form the methodical and practical stock of the project team with account of home and world experience in this field. At that, the concept of automatic fitting of unknown parameters during a controlled series of simulations of the physical phenomenon under study and concept of mollification proposed by scientists from the University of Cincinnati for inverse problem solution will be a methodical basis of the project. Such a approach allows to use a ready-made simulation software (e.g. the PHONICS or Fluent packages) as a built-in simulation procedure, and concentrate the efforts of the project investigators on the scientific ground and careful design of the control casing of the system for solution of problems of optimization and identification.

These works are partly being financed by the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences. For intensification of the working with participation of American colleagues it is planing to ask for additional financial support in the frames of Scientific Programs of NATO, STCU and other related organizations.
